Recap: Riverside-Durham Pirates vs. Orange Panthers
The Riverside-Durham Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Orange 55-21. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Riverside-Durham in their matchups with Orange: they've now lost four in a row.
Riverside-Durham's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jasmine Chapman, who scored 8 points. Beck Arredondo was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Evelyn George was the offensive standout of the match as she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Marshea Byrd, who scored 7 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals.
Riverside-Durham's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Orange, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside-Durham won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southern Durham at 6:00 p.m. on November 29th. Hopefully Southern Durham focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Tuesday. As for Orange, they will be playing at home against Jordan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
