Volleyball Game Preview: Calais Blue Devils vs. Orono Riots + How To Watch

The Calais Blue Devils will face off against the Orono Riots at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Calais is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Calais is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Jonesport-Beals, who was ranked 18th at the time (Calais was ranked 23rd). The Blue Devils fell just short of the Royals by a score of 3-2 on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Calais was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Jonesport-Beals work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-13, 15-25, 26-28, 17-15.

Meanwhile, Orono lost 3-0 to Ellsworth on Tuesday.

Orono took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-15, 25-22.

Orono's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Calais, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Calais beat Orono 3-1 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Riots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
