Basketball Recap: Port Neches-Groves Comes Up Short

The Port Neches-Groves Indians came up short against the La Porte Bulldogs on Tuesday, falling 50-24. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 830th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 239th).

Port Neches-Groves' loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for La Porte, they pushed their record up to 20-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Port Neches-Groves will venture away from home to face off against Port Arthur Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Port Neches-Groves is facing Port Arthur Memorial at the right time seeing as Port Arthur Memorial is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for La Porte, they will head out to square off against Angleton at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
