Basketball Recap: Madison Takes a Loss

Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were beaten by the Reagan Rattlers 61-28. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 926th, while the Rattlers are ranked 216th).

Madison lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sophia Campa, who posted nine points.

Reagan was led to victory by Sahara Green and Renata Parga. Green went 5 of 10 on her way to 12 points and three steals, while Parga went 5 of 8 on her way to 14 points. Green has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Bingham, who put up seven points.

Madison's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Reagan, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Madison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-19 defeat against Clark on the 3rd. As for Reagan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-28 loss against Johnson on the 3rd.
