Recap: Chambers Academy Rebels vs. Escambia Academy Cougars
The Chambers Academy Rebels had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 55-18 victory over Escambia Academy. The result was nothing new for Chambers Academy, who have now won nine contests by 27 points or more so far this season.
Despite the loss, Escambia Academy still got an impressive performance from Quinton Odom, who picked up 143 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Odom was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards.
Chambers Academy's victory was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-10 Macon-East Montgomery Academy and 1-9 Abbeville Christian Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38% over those games). As for Escambia Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Chambers Academy will square off against Patrician Academy at TBD on Thursday. Patrician Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 191 points over their last four games. Escambia Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
