Volleyball Recap: Pima Takes a Loss

If Pima was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Globe last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Roughriders fell 3-1 to the Chandler Prep Titans on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Roughriders of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-23, 18-25, 25-17.

Morgan Russell paced Pima's offense, picking up seven kills. Russell got some help from Demi Derrick and her eight assists. Maddi Dwyer and Grace Napier kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Tala Fulgham was a one-woman wrecking crew For Chandler Prep. as she had 35 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Fulgham a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Hannah Fox, who had 21 assists and 13 digs.

Pima now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Chandler Prep, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-8.

Pima wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against St. Johns on the 19th. As for Chandler Prep, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Miami on the 23rd.
