Basketball Recap: Santa Rita Takes a Loss

Santa Rita was the 76-45 winner over Baboquivari when they last played one another back in November of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Santa Rita Eagles received a blow on Wednesday as they fell 69-53 to the Baboquivari Warriors.

Despite the loss, Santa Rita still got an impressive performance from David Gonzales, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Gonzales is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was James Green, who posted nine points along with seven steals and five rebounds.

Santa Rita's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Baboquivari, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Santa Rita has already played their next game, a 71-54 defeat against Benson on the 16th. As for Baboquivari, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-40 victory against Patagonia on the 17th.
