Basketball Recap: Rantoul Comes Up Short

Rantoul was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts, falling 61-39. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 644th, while the Grey Ghosts are ranked 195th).

Rantoul's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Illinois Valley Central, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-6.

Rantoul will head out to face off against Monticello at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Illinois Valley Central, they will square off against Prairie Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Illinois Valley Central is facing Prairie Central at the right time seeing as Prairie Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
