Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is New Trier's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

After losing to St. Charles North the last time they met, New Trier decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The New Trier Trevians enjoyed a cozy 64-47 victory over the St. Charles North North Stars on Thursday. Given the Trevians' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the North Stars are ranked 383rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

New Trier is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for St. Charles North, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Trier will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Glenbrook South at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. St. Charles North will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Lake Park at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
