Baseball Recap: Red Bay Drops Season-High Score on Sheffield

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Red Bay). They were the clear victors by a 19-7 margin over the Sheffield Bulldogs on Saturday. Considering the Tigers have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Reed Hamilton was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Jeramiah Robinson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.

Red Bay's win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Sheffield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-10.

Coming up, Red Bay will face off against Lamar County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.41 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sheffield, they will challenge Colbert County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
