Basketball Recap: Camari Bell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jefferson over Steinbrenner

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Steinbrenner Warriors, falling 65-43. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Jefferson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Camari Bell, who went 5 for 7 en route to 15 points. The game was Bell's third in a row with at least ten points. Deion Andrew was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 13 points.

Douglas Jordan was nothing short of spectacular for Steinbrenner: he went 10 for 19 en route to 26 points and three blocks. Jordan is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Griffin, who posted six points.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Steinbrenner, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13.

Jefferson has already played their next matchup, an 80-26 loss against Jesuit on the 15th. As for Steinbrenner, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-34 defeat against Land O' Lakes on the 15th.
