Softball Recap: Twin River Titans vs. North Bend Central Tigers

There's no place like home for Twin River, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the North Bend Central Tigers on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won 14 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Marcie Spitz made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double.

In other batting news, Mya Ramaekers and JLee Van Driel did most of the damage at the plate: Ramaekers scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Van Driel scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Van Driel is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last eight games she's played dating back to last season. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Twin River was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .619. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Twin River pushed their record up to 24-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for North Bend Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-19.
