Softball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

Washington and Liberty squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Washington had to settle for second. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 17-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Golden Eagles haven't been shut out since back in March.

Washington is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 31-5.

While Washington had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
