It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Decatur Central had no problem doing just that on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Perry Meridian Falcons 13-12. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 10-6 win back in April.

Decatur Central saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Baylie Polston, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most hits Polston has posted since back in April. Mak Wilkerson was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Decatur Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 9-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Decatur Central has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. As for Perry Meridian, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-16.

As of now, neither Decatur Central nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
