Volleyball Game Preview: Dalton Bulldogs vs. Independence Blue Devils + How To Watch

The Dalton Bulldogs will face off against the Independence Blue Devils at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Dalton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Waynedale.

Dalton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-16, 25-15, 25-21.

McDonald typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Independence proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on McDonald with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Independence was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-16, 25-19.

Independence's win came from a few key players Dalton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Julia Jurkiewicz, who had five digs and two aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sofia Pichert, who had ten digs and two aces.

Independence was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in seven consecutive matchups.

Dalton's win bumped their record up to 23-3. As for Independence, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6.

Dalton couldn't quite get it done against Independence when the teams last played back in November of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Thankfully for the Bulldogs, Alberta Moreal (who had seven digs and two aces) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
