Baseball Game Preview: Indianola Indians vs. Dowling Catholic Maroons

The Indianola Indians will face off against the Dowling Catholic Maroons on Monday. Indianola is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

On Saturday, Indianola was able to grind out a solid victory over Ankeny, taking the game 8-4.

Dowling Catholic never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Ottumwa on Friday. They walked away with an 11-6 win over the Bulldogs. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Maroons' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Indianola's victory was their 13th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 31-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Dowling Catholic, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-13.
