Basketball Recap: Little Cypress-Mauriceville Takes a Loss

Little Cypress-Mauriceville lost against Bridge City back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bridge City Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 837th, while the Cardinals are ranked 414th).

Little Cypress-Mauriceville has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 14-21 record this season. As for Bridge City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-10.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bridge City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Madisonville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Bridge City has won four straight at home, while Madisonville won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
