Basketball Game Preview: Surry HomeSchool Runnin' Patriots vs. Christian Educational Consortium Cougars

Having just played yesterday, the Surry HomeSchool Runnin' Patriots will jump right back in to play the Christian Educational Consortium Cougars at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Surry HomeSchool turned things around against Greater Cabarrus S on Thursday. They walked away with a 50-39 victory over the Stallions.

Christian Educational Consortium not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 20th. They put the hurt on FAITH HomeSchool with a sharp 50-30 win. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 231st in Kentucky, while the Falcons are ranked 633rd in Michigan), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Surry HomeSchool better focus on containing Jenna Wyndham and Sophie Hales as the pair were huge in Christian Educational Consortium's win. Wyndham dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Hales posted 16 points and six steals. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Wyndham has scored at least a third of Christian Educational Consortium's points. Another player making a difference was Ainsley Balzer, who earned five points and ten boards.

Christian Educational Consortium smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

The victory snapped Christian Educational Consortium's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-20 record. As for Surry HomeSchool, their record is now 8-19.
