Basketball Recap: Holden Knott's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Heritage Christian Academy over Hope Christian Academy

On Thursday, the Heritage Christian Academy Eagles were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-53 to Hope Christian Academy. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Heritage Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Holden Knott, who posted 16 points. The dominant performance gave Knott a new career-high in points. Mason McPhillips was another key player, putting up ten points.

Hope Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Aziah Amberson, who put up 23 points along with five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Van Cottrill, who had eight points in addition to nine rebounds and four blocks.

Heritage Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Hope Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage Christian Academy will welcome Coosa Valley Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hope Christian Academy, they will host North River Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hope Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7 points per game this season.
