Basketball Recap: Swansea Comes Up Short

Swansea was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 42nd straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 76-45 defeat at the hands of the Newberry Bulldogs. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-16.

Swansea's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zyshawn Jamison, who posted 20 points. That was a full 44.4% of Swansea's points, marking the 12th time in a row Jamison has put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Donnell Goodwin, who had 12 points.

Swansea's defeat dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Newberry, their win bumped their record up to 10-14.

Swansea has already played their next game, an 85-15 loss against Oceanside Collegiate Academy on the 18th. As for Newberry, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-59 defeat against North Charleston on the 18th.
