Basketball Recap: Jadyn Williams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mingo Valley Christian over Union Christian Academy

Mingo Valley Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 36-22 bruising from the Union Christian Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Union Christian Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-45 back in January.

Mingo Valley Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jadyn Williams, who posted nine points. That was a full 40.9% of Mingo Valley Christian's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Abby Steele was another key player, putting up eight points.

Mingo Valley Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Union Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Looking ahead, Mingo Valley Christian will take on Cristo Rey at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Union Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
