Basketball Recap: Orange Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

If Beachwood wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Orange, they should've done a better job of containing Alex McCulloch. The Orange Lions came out on top against the Beachwood Bison by a score of 64-57 on Friday thanks in part to McCulloch, who went 10-for-21 to rack up 28 points and eight boards. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least 16 points.

Luke Schmotzer was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Orange is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points over those games. As for Beachwood, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-16.

Orange and Beachwood are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Orange will square off against Edgewood at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. One thing working in Edgewood's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Beachwood, they are taking a road trip to challenge Andrews Osborne Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
