Basketball Game Preview: Troy Flying Horses vs. Albany Academy for Girls Bears

The Troy Flying Horses will head out to challenge the Albany Academy for Girls Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Troy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

On Monday, Troy blew past Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, posting a 65-35 victory. Given the Flying Horses' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while the Indians are ranked 379th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Albany Academy for Girls). They claimed a resounding 84-21 win over Lansingburgh. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 25 points or more this season.

Troy has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Albany Academy for Girls, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
