Basketball Recap: Brownell Talbot Takes a Loss

Brownell Talbot lost against Concordia back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Brownell Talbot Raiders fell 36-25 to the Concordia Mustangs. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Brownell Talbot still got an impressive performance from Abbi Gibbs, who posted eight points along with 15 boards and three steals. Gibbs is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season.

Concordia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charis Hughes, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliza Secrest, who had ten points.

Brownell Talbot's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Concordia, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Brownell Talbot didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-33 defeat against Elmwood-Murdock on the 30th. As for Concordia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 42-37 loss against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on the 30th.
