Volleyball Recap: Covina Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Covina, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Baldwin Park Braves on Wednesday. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Covina walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-10, 25-19.

Brianna Gaytan paced Covina's offense, picking up ten kills. Gaytan got some help from Julianna Munoz and her 17 assists. Munoz was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

The victory got Covina back to even at 1-1. As for Baldwin Park, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covina will challenge San Gabriel at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Baldwin Park, they will take on Pioneer at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
