Volleyball Game Preview: Verrado Vipers vs. Independence Patriots

Verrado has won four straight games at home, while Independence has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. Verrado will welcome Independence at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Verrado beat Desert Edge 3-1.

Buckeye came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Independence, but Hser Lar wouldn't allow it. Independence came out on top in a nail-biter against Buckeye on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2 with plenty of help from Lar, who had 21 assists and 11 digs. Those 11 digs gave him a new career-high.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Independence got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 22-25, 25-12, 23-25, 15-12.

Verrado has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Independence's victory bumped their record up to 9-7.

Verrado beat Independence 3-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Does Verrado have another victory up their sleeve, or will Independence turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
