Soccer Game Preview: St. Bede vs. Mendota

The St. Bede Bruins will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Mendota Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Monday just wasn't the day for St. Bede's offense. They lost 9-0 to Peoria Christian on Monday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mendota). Their defense stepped up to hand Sandwich a 7-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Mendota considering their one-goal performance the match before.

Mendota pushed their record up to 4-6-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for St. Bede, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
