Football Recap: Mercer Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Rider Chiappini and Cody Osborn + How To Watch

The matchup between Mercer and Slippery Rock on Friday hardly resembled the 20-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Mustangs lost 42-17 to the Rockets. Despite 79 more yards than the Rockets, the Mustangs couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Mercer's loss came despite strong showings from Cody Osborn and Rider Chiappini. Osborn rushed for 81 yards and one score, while Chiappini rushed for 113 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.

Mercer's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Slippery Rock, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-6.

As of now, neither Mercer nor the Rockets have any future games scheduled.
