Softball Recap: Lawton Takes a Loss

If Lawton was riding high fresh off their 12-1 takedown of Kellogg on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-5 on Monday. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 12-1.

Payton Potter made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Brooklyne Merchant also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Lawton's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Kellogg, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lawton will take on Parchment at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kellogg, they will venture away from home to challenge Watervliet at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
