The Leander Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Lake Belton Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Leander had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 43-point drubbing they dealt Chaparral on Friday. The Lions really took it to the Bobcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-6 win. The Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ke'Marion Gordon
| 10/10/25 vs Chaparral | 236 |
| 10/03/25 vs Glenn | 123 |
| 09/26/25 @ Georgetown | 27 |
| 09/12/25 @ Del Valle | 167 |
| 08/28/25 vs Pflugerville | 81 |
Ke'Marion Gordon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 236 yards and four scores while picking up 13.1 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 126.8 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Mason Montgomery, who rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Leander was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 408 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lake Belton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on Glenn with a sharp 49-23 victory on Friday. Given the Broncos' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 565th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leander better focus on containing Zion Harness and Zyien Dupree as the pair were huge in Lake Belton's win. Harness gained 164 total yards and two touchdowns, while Dupree rushed for 112 yards and one TD on only seven carries. That's the most rushing yards Dupree has posted since back in September of 2024. Reese Rosenbaum was another key player, throwing for 70 yards and three touchdowns.
Lake Belton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Braxton Cope led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in each of the last three games he's played. Lake Belton got some further help from Jonathan Russell: he picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Lake Belton's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.6 points over those games. As for Leander, the win also got them back to even at 3-3.
We should be in store for an exciting game as Leander and Lake Belton have no problem gaining yardage. The Lions have been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 362 total yards per game. However, it's not like Lake Belton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 373.3 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Leander ended up a good deal behind Lake Belton in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, losing 29-15. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
