Softball Recap: Arleta Triumphs

Fans were treated to a battle of the Mustangs on Saturday. Arleta had just enough and edged out Muir 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for Arleta.

OLIVIA FIGUEROA spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Arleta got a big performance out of ADRIANA VASQUEZ DURAN, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of KARINA SANCHEZ, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Arleta now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Muir, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Arleta is taking a road trip to face off against Bravo at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Arleta will need to watch out since Bravo has now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Muir, they have already played their next matchup, a 9-1 win against Poly on the 29th.
