Baseball Recap: Brookfield Comes Up Short on the Road Against Crestview

Brookfield kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 10-5 to the Crestview Rebels. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 10-1 to the Rebels when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Bray Coleman and Bryan Reardon did some serious damage despite the final result: Coleman went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one stolen base, while Reardon scored a run and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Those four RBI gave Coleman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josh Rankin, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

The win got Crestview back to even at 1-1.

While Brookfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
