Volleyball Recap: West Broward Comes Up Short + How To Watch

West Broward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Cypress Bay Lightning. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

While West Broward was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-21, 25-18.

Despite the loss, West Broward still got an impressive performance from Alex Cruz, who had 16 digs. Cruz is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 15 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Leading Cypress Bay to victory were Cesar Gutierrez and Diego Ruz. Gutierrez had 12 digs and one assist, while Ruz had ten digs, eight kills, and one block. Those 12 digs gave Gutierrez a new career-high.

West Broward's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Cypress Bay, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

West Broward didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Coral Springs Charter on the 7th. As for Cypress Bay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Flanagan on the 7th.
