Perry Meridian had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 2-5 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the Mooresville Pioneers 4-2. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 7-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Austin McNabb tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Ryan Herndon was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Aiden Kerr also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
As for Mooresville, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. The match marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.
