Softball Recap: Argonaut Extends Winning Streak to Five

Argonaut proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 15) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Amador Buffaloes 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Hailey Dewald spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bailey Baker was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

Argonaut pushed their record up to 21-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Amador, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-8-1.

As of now, neither Argonaut nor the Buffaloes have any future games scheduled.
