Basketball Game Preview: Peachtree Academy Panthers vs. HALO Wolfpack

The Peachtree Academy Panthers will square off against the HALO Wolfpack at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

It was a proper cat-fight when Peachtree Academy faced off against Trinity Christian School of Griffin on Tuesday. The Panthers fell just short of the LIONS by a score of 40-37.

Julian Baluta put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Liam Abraham, who put up ten points.

Meanwhile, HALO was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-44 heartbreaker at the hands of Georgia Force Christian.

Peachtree Academy will have to contain Kenneth Haynes as he made an impact in HALO's last game. He almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovan Miles, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

HALO's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Peachtree Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Peachtree Academy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.2 boards per game. However, it's not like HALO struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 36.4 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Peachtree Academy might still be hurting after the 60-36 loss they got from HALO when the teams last played last Tuesday.
