Volleyball Recap: Fontbonne Academy Comes Up Short

Fontbonne Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockland Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Fontbonne Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-16, 26-24, 25-18.

Emma Jolley paced Fontbonne Academy's offense, picking up 17 kills. Jolley got some help from Tayla Jiang and her 36 assists.

Fontbonne Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Rockland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Fontbonne Academy has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Brockton on the 20th. As for Rockland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Middleborough on the 16th.
