Volleyball Game Preview: Andover Golden Warriors vs. Bishop Feehan Shamrocks

The Andover Golden Warriors will face off against the Bishop Feehan Shamrocks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Andover is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Boston Latin.

The final score came out to 25-6, 25-16, 25-9.

Andover's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Tina Zheng, who had 20 assists and three aces, and Claire Zhang, who had six aces. Those six aces gave Zhang a new career-high. Noor Berty also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Andover was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 35 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Bishop Feehan made easy work of Hopkinton on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Bishop Feehan's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Andover, their win bumped their record up to 17-4.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Andover has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 14.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Bishop Feehan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.1 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
