Softball Recap: Lake Weir Takes a Loss

Lake Weir was the 12-5 winner over Leesburg when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Lake Weir took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Leesburg on Tuesday. The Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lake Weir saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelsey Buncie, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Buncie a new career-high.

Lake Weir's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Leesburg, their record now sits at 9-3.

While Lake Weir had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
