Baseball Recap: Fannett Metal Extends Winning Streak to Three

Fannett Metal waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on Forbes Road with a sharp 15-5 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 back in March.

Fannett Metal let Landon Arnold and Jake Coffman run wild. Arnold went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Coffman went 2-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Coffman has posted since back in March. Tucker Seibert was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Fannett Metal was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Fannett Metal's record now sits at 8-3. As for Forbes Road, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fannett Metal will head out to square off against Everett at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Forbes Road, they will venture away from home to challenge Tussey Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Forbes Road's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
