Dontrell Mims Turns in Season-Best Effort
Dontrell Mims produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Hoke County to the win on Friday. Mims picked up 5.5 sacks and made ten total tackles.
With the win, Hoke County broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6. Mims will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Union Pines on Friday.

Zymire Spencer Dazzles in Pinecrest Victory
Zymire Spencer continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his fifth-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 127 rushing yards. He rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 87-yard run.
Lee County's probably not too fond of Spencer given he always seems to get the better of them. When Spencer last faced the Yellow Jackets back in October of 2023, he rushed for 228 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per carry.

Chris Najm Makes It Two for Pinecrest
Keeping Spencer company is Chris Najm, a fellow Pinecrest player. He rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries.
This season, Najm has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 98.3 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he had five rushing touchdowns.

Sims Made His Presence Known in Southern Lee's 20-14 Loss
Southern Lee was sadly handed a defeat on Friday, but Robert Sims did his best to prevent it. Nobody could stop Sims as he rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 101 yards and a touchdown.
Southern Lee is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5. Sims and Southern Lee will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Union Pines at 7:30 p.m. on October 25th.
