Baseball Recap: Immaculate Takes a Loss

Immaculate came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-4 to the Pomperaug Panthers. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 10-0.

Kevin Hickey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Immaculate's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Pomperaug, their victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Immaculate will take on Newtown at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pomperaug, they will square off against Brookfield at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
