Baseball Recap: Kingston Wins Going Away Against Bremerton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kingston). Everything went their way against the Bremerton Knights on Wednesday as Kingston made off with a 7-1 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Chayton Walker was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. Walker was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyler Hedstrom, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Jett Petrick also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Kingston and bumps their season record up to 3-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Bremerton, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kingston will challenge Bainbridge at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bremerton, they will face off against Chimacum at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday.
