Buford proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by six) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their defense stepped up to hand the Northwestern Trojans a 1-0 shutout. For Buford, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win Northwestern walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Buford's one-goal win came courtesy of Aubrey Kneibel, which was the first she's scored this season.

Buford is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Northwestern is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buford will welcome Lugoff-Elgin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northwestern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Indian Land at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwestern is facing Indian Land at the right time seeing as Indian Land is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
