Baseball Recap: Pius XI Catholic Takes a Loss

Pius XI Catholic made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Homestead, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Popes fell just short of the Highlanders by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Popes in their meetings with the Highlanders: they've now lost three in a row.

Pius XI Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mariano Rivera, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double. Owen Hickethier also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Pius XI Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Homestead, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14.

Pius XI Catholic didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-8 defeat against St. John's Northwestern Military Academy on the 14th. As for Homestead, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 16-1 loss against Slinger on the 14th.
