Baseball Recap: Loveland Wins Going Away Against Little Miami

Loveland had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Little Miami on Friday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 10-2 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Tigers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Loveland got a great performance from Drew Oerther as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over 5.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Loveland let Dylan Hacker and Derek Fleming run wild. Hacker went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Fleming went 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. Those three hits gave Hacker a new career-high. Blake Carrigan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Loveland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Little Miami only posted a batting average of .130.

Loveland's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Little Miami, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Coming up, Loveland will head out on the road to take on Anderson at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Little Miami, they will host Cincinnati Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
