Volleyball Recap: Cedar Bluffs Takes a Loss

Cedar Bluffs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Cougars when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cedar Bluffs was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-22.

Ruthie Hanzel paced Cedar Bluffs' offense, picking up 12 kills. Hanzel got some help from Taylor Hansen and her 26 assists. Jaydyn Bittinger controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Cedar Bluffs' defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-7.

Coming up, Cedar Bluffs will take on Tekamah-Herman at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, they will square off against Tri County Northeast on Thursday.
