Baseball Game Preview: North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers vs. Western Boone Stars

North Montgomery has gone 8-2 against Western Boone recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Chargin' Chargers will host the Stars at 5:30 p.m. North Montgomery will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

North Montgomery proved they can win big on Friday (they won by six) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cascade, sneaking past 8-6.

Cade Cole was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cayden Keller, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jack Warren, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Western Boone came up short against Western on Saturday, falling 12-2.

Western Boone saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Levi Stewart, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Jack Mallory also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Western Boone's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for North Montgomery, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Western Boone's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: North Montgomery hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .377. It's a different story for Western Boone, though, as they've only averaged .252. Will they be able to contain North Montgomery's hitters?

North Montgomery took their victory against Western Boone when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-1 score. Will the Chargin' Chargers repeat their success, or do the Stars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
