Make it five blowout wins for the Crest Chargers this season. They claimed a resounding 63-35 win over Ashbrook at home. With Crest ahead 31-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Crest had a senior duo take command as Kari Lee scored 21 points along with five steals and Monica Surratt scored 13 points. That's the first time this season that Lee scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Zaira Faulkner, who scored no points along with five assists and two steals.
Despite the defeat, Ashbrook saw an underclassman step up: Arianna Mcdowell dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mcdowell scored 15 or more points. Nykira Arrington was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Crest is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Ashbrook, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
