Softball Recap: Paxton-Buckley-Loda Has No Trouble Against Urbana

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Paxton-Buckley-Loda and Urbana meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 13-1 win. The contest marked the Panthers' most dominant victory of the season.

Meredith Foster looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She also put up three walks, which were her first of the season.

At the plate, Hallee Johnson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. Devani McClatchey was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.4.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda's record now sits at 3-8. As for Urbana, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paxton-Buckley-Loda will challenge Oakwood at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Urbana, they will square off against Bloomington at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
